In their old age, two widows, Alexandra Matveyevna and Elizaveta Egorovna, settled in the same house. It was not only loneliness that brought them closer, but also a common concern - the grave of two unknown soldiers, which they have been caring for for more than 30 years. Suddenly, the district authorities decide to make a memorial out of "their" grave.
